The Accuplacer is a well-calibrated, adaptive placement test with strong validity across large applicant pools. It scores each section individually, which fits Habib's holistic admissions model, per-section cutoffs mean the university can see exactly where an applicant is strong and where they'd need support in the first-year core.
Each next question is chosen based on how you answered the last one. Get an early question right and the difficulty climbs, pushing your score band upward. Get one wrong and it drops. That's why early questions matter more than late ones, and why rushing the first three questions of any section is the fastest way to lose marks.
Because the test is adaptive, static practice papers only get you so far. Practise on a platform that mimics adaptive timing and section behaviour, and never check answers mid-section, that habit costs marks on the real thing. Review after you submit, not during.
