Terms of Service

Imtehan is an independent, student-run website.It is not owned, operated, endorsed, sponsored, or otherwise affiliated with Habib University, its administration, its Office of Admissions, or any of its departments. “Habib University” and related names and marks belong to Habib University and are used here only to describe what this site helps you prepare for. Nothing on this site is official admissions information; always rely on habib.edu.pk for authoritative requirements, dates, and decisions.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of imtehan.pk and any related pages, tools, and services (together, the “Service”). By visiting the Service, creating an account, or signing in with Google, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

2. Independent site, no affiliation with Habib University

Imtehan is built and maintained by current students as a personal, volunteer project. It is not an official Habib University website, product, or service, and it does not speak for the University in any capacity. In particular:

  • We have no access to, and no influence over, the University’s admissions process, test content, scoring, interviews, scholarship decisions, or outcomes.
  • Practice questions, mock tests, essay prompts, interview questions, scholarship summaries, campus maps, and schedule tools are our own study aids or are compiled from publicly available sources. They are approximations and may differ from the actual entrance test, interview, or University policy.
  • Any reference to Habib University, its schools (for example DSSE or AHSS), its programs, or its entrance test is for descriptive, nominative purposes only and does not imply sponsorship or endorsement.
  • Using Imtehan does not give you any advantage, priority, or standing with the University, and is not a substitute for reading the University’s official admissions materials.

3. Educational content only, no guarantees

All content on the Service is provided for general educational and informational purposes. It is not professional, academic, legal, or financial advice. We do not promise that using the Service will improve your score, secure admission, or result in any scholarship or financial aid. Information (including dates, fees, merit criteria, or policies) may be out of date or inaccurate; verify everything with the University directly before relying on it.

Mock interviews are conducted by volunteer students, not by University staff. They are informal practice sessions and have no bearing on any real interview.

4. Accounts and sign-in

Signing in is handled through Google. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure and for all activity under your Imtehan account. You must provide accurate information (for example in the mock interview form) and must not impersonate anyone else. We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms. You may ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy).

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any University rule, honour code, or examination regulation that applies to you;
  • upload or submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, infringing, or that you do not have the right to share (including other people’s personal data);
  • attempt to access other users’ data, the admin area, or any part of the Service you are not authorised to use;
  • scrape, copy, redistribute, or sell our question banks, guides, or other content, or use automated tools to extract them;
  • interfere with the operation or security of the Service, or introduce malware;
  • misrepresent Imtehan as an official University service, or use it to mislead other applicants.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of anything you submit (essays, answers, forms, uploaded files such as admit cards or ECA documents, schedule screenshots, and messages). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you, for example to save your essay drafts, score your attempts, or let a volunteer interviewer review your submission. We do not publish your content or share it with the University.

Please do not upload documents you are not comfortable sharing with student volunteers. Only upload what a form explicitly asks for.

7. Our content and third-party material

The design, code, original questions, explanations, and guides on the Service are owned by Imtehan or its contributors and are protected by copyright. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial study. Some practice material is adapted from publicly available standardised-test resources and remains the property of its respective owners; such use is intended for educational purposes and no affiliation with those owners is claimed. If you believe any content on the Service infringes your rights, contact us at support@imtehan.pk and we will review and, where appropriate, remove it promptly.

8. Third-party services and links

The Service relies on third parties such as Google (sign-in), Resend (email delivery), and WhatsApp (support chat). Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of those services. Links to external websites, including the University’s own site, are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.

9. Fees

The Service is currently free to use. If we ever introduce paid features, we will describe them clearly before you are charged, and these Terms will be updated accordingly.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT CONTENT REFLECTS THE CURRENT FORMAT OR POLICIES OF ANY UNIVERSITY EXAMINATION OR ADMISSIONS PROCESS.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IMTEHAN AND ITS STUDENT CONTRIBUTORS, VOLUNTEERS, AND OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF OPPORTUNITY, ADMISSION, SCHOLARSHIP, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (WHICH, FOR A FREE SERVICE, IS ZERO).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions; in that case the above applies to the maximum extent permitted.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Imtehan and its contributors from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your content, or your misuse of the Service.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Service, or discontinue the Service entirely, at any time and for any reason, including where we believe these Terms have been breached or where continuing to operate the Service would create a risk for its student maintainers. Sections 2, 3, 6, 7, and 10 to 16 survive termination.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when they were last changed. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms. For material changes we will make reasonable efforts to notify signed-in users, for example by a notice on the site.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Karachi, Pakistan, unless applicable law requires otherwise. Before starting any formal proceedings, you agree to contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
