Habib vs LUMS, the differences that actually matter

Habib is built around a shared liberal-core curriculum every student sits, regardless of major. Reading, writing, and discussion-based classes are central across all four years. LUMS also has a foundational core but leans further toward professional and pre-professional programs, especially through its business school.

Habib's cohort is smaller, which means smaller class sizes and closer faculty contact from year one. LUMS's cohort is larger, which offers wider social and academic breadth but a less intimate teaching environment.

Habib is in Karachi. LUMS is in Lahore. If you're in Karachi and want to stay close to home, that already tips the balance for many applicants. If you're open to relocation or based in Lahore, both are on the table.

Both universities run their own entrance tests. Habib runs an Accuplacer-based test with a WritePlacer essay. LUMS runs its own aptitude test, the LCAT.
