The application process is the sequence of things Habib actually does with your file after you hit submit. Understanding it removes the mystery about why decisions take the time they do, and it tells you exactly where you still have leverage to influence the outcome.
Register on the admissions portal, upload documents, write your personal statement, and pay the fee. This is where most applicants spend the least time, and it shows in the shortlist. Give the personal statement a real draft, then a real edit, not a single pass.
Once your application is submitted, you'll be assigned an entrance test slot from your chosen series. The test runs on the Accuplacer platform with a proctored essay. DSSE applicants sit an extra math section. Scores are usually available within a few days.
Habib reviews your test scores against per-section cutoffs and reads your transcript and personal statement together. If the file meets the shortlist threshold, you'll be invited to interview. This is where the essay and personal statement matter most, they can tip a borderline application into the shortlist.
Shortlisted applicants attend an interview with faculty and admissions staff. It's a conversation, not a technical viva. The interviewer is checking whether you'll thrive in the core curriculum. Book a mock interview with a current student beforehand so the format is not novel.
Habib runs rolling admissions, so decisions come out continuously through the round. Offers are made in writing through the portal, with financial-aid packages attached. If you applied for merit and need-based aid separately, both are considered together before the package is finalised.
You accept by the deadline stated in the offer letter and pay the confirmation deposit. Late acceptance can cost you your seat if the round is full. Once accepted, you'll receive onboarding for orientation, housing, and the first-year core curriculum.
