The Habib essay is a persuasive essay, not a five-paragraph school essay. The rubric rewards a clear argument, real reasoning, and control over structure. It penalises hedging, quote-stuffing, and paragraphs that describe rather than argue.
Your first paragraph should state the position you're arguing for in one sentence, and preview the two or three reasons you'll build on. Readers of admissions essays decide within 30 seconds whether the essay has a spine, if the thesis is missing, the rest reads as fog.
Each body paragraph should make one argument, back it up with one concrete example, and connect it back to the thesis. That's the structure, not description, not narrative. If a paragraph could be cut and the essay still made sense, it wasn't argumentative to begin with.
